Make-A-Wish Children Named as Godchildren to the Disney Wish

Previously, we reported that Disney Cruise Line had yet to name a godmother for their newest ship, the Disney Wish.  Rumors swirled about who Disney could name for the ship’s Godmother as previous recipients of this high honor are: Patricia Disney (Disney Magic), Tinkerbell (Disney Wonder), Jennifer Hudson (Disney Dream), and Mariah Carey (Disney Fantasy).  However, until today the news about the godmother of the Disney Wish had yet to be announced. The purpose of a godmother for a cruise ship is to “bestow good fortune on the vessel and its passengers.”

Today, Disney Cruise Line announced that the Disney Wish will have godchildren. Disney Cruise Line has chosen to honor all Make-A-Wish children past, present, and future as the godchildren of the Disney Wish.  The christening of the ship is set to take place on June 29 with its maiden voyage occurring on July 14 from Port Canaveral in Florida.
