Today during the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force meeting the group heard from both the NBA and the MLS about their plans for coming to Walt Disney World.
The MLS plans were presented by Caesar Lopez, CAO/Chief Legal Officer of the Orlando Soccer Club.
Here’s what was offered:
- All 26 teams will play at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex
- The games will run from July 8- August 11-Schedules will be released soon
- Tournament will be held World Cup Style
- No spectators
- About 45 people in travel groups on chartered flights to arrive at the event
- Those involved will be tested every other day before traveling to Orlando
- Once in Orlando they will be quarantined and can only train if they test negative
- Will be tested every 2 days
- Baseline Anti-body Test will be performed during physicals
- They will be all located in one Walt Disney World Resort Hotel
- Staff at Event will be screened with temperature checks and questionnaires
- They too will have a social injustice platform that they will be presenting
- They also are counting on the exposure from the event
