Annual Passholders can’t book Magic Kingdom for Nov. 11, one of two Christmas parade tapings. Plus, Imagineering merch tickets go on sale Friday, and the Cars ride is getting its foundation.
Disney World’s free daytime Christmas parade is already drawing a crowd, and it’s still almost three weeks away.
One of the two taping days is now booked up for Annual Passholders. There’s also news on an Imagineering shopping event, a new ride and a giant peanut butter dessert.
Here are seven updates to know.
Why can’t passholders book Magic Kingdom on Nov. 11?
The park is at capacity for them. Disney’s Annual Passholder calendar shows Wednesday, Nov. 11, as unavailable at Magic Kingdom, WDW News Today reported Thursday, Oct. 22. Tuesday, Nov. 10, was still open.
Both days have a 2 p.m. daytime run of Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, taped for ABC’s holiday specials, as PNP reported. Until Christmas week, you usually need a Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party ticket to see it.
Passholders can still book Animal Kingdom, EPCOT or Hollywood Studios that day, BlogMickey reported. After entering that park, they can hop to Magic Kingdom, but that’s subject to capacity.
In 2024, Disney closed Main Street, U.S.A., to guests during the taping, BlogMickey noted. Frontierland and Liberty Square should still have good views along the route.
Last year, ABC aired the Christmas Day parade on Dec. 25, WDWNT said. ABC hasn’t announced this year’s air dates.
Here’s a look at the parade, from Disney Parks:
When do Mickey’s of Glendale tickets go on sale?
Friday, Oct. 23, at 1 p.m. ET, through D23, BlogMickey reported. Mickey’s of Glendale is the Walt Disney Imagineering campus store, and it’s popping up at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort on Sunday, Nov. 15.
Tickets are $15 for D23 Gold Members and $25 for General Members, plus a $3 fee. This is the first time General Members can go; the April 2025 pop-up was Gold only.
Members can book one hour-long window, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., for themselves and a guest.
How is the Cars ride at Magic Kingdom coming along?
It’s starting to take shape. Crews are pouring foundation concrete for Cars Ridge Run Rally in the old Rivers of America riverbed, BlogMickey reported.
It’s one of two rides planned for Piston Peak National Park, the new land next to Frontierland. Imagineers call it a family thrill ride that climbs a snowy summit, dodges geysers and splashes through a creek.
Disney hasn’t given an opening date. A filing from February says infrastructure work for the land should be done by 2028, BlogMickey said.
What’s new at Gideon’s Bakehouse?
A huge Halloween dessert. The Monstrous PB Cup Tart is available Saturday, Oct. 24, and Sunday, Oct. 25, MickeyBlog reported.
It’s packed with peanut butter filling, peanut butter caramel, chopped peanut butter cups and crushed Nutter Butters, under thin dark chocolate.
Gideon’s is also turning 10, since its first shop opened at Orlando’s East End Market in October 2016. It’s marking that with up to 70 Artist Edition trading cards, Laughing Place reported.
Is Kawaii Slime Company coming to Disney Springs?
It looks that way. The company, which has had a cart at Downtown Disney in California since 2024, said it’s moving to Disney Springs, MickeyBlog reported.
The old face-painting stand near the Marketplace Co-Op has closed, and a new Disney permit for it is labeled “Project Jellyfish,” MickeyBlog said.
What Christmas merch is out at Disney World?
Lots. WDW News Today posted its running list of 2026 Christmas merchandise, with prices, on Oct. 21.
Most holiday T-shirts are $32.99, including a “Jolly” EPCOT tee and a “Merry Sithmas” Star Wars shirt with carol-singing stormtroopers. A Grogu present tee is $24.99.
Holiday Spirit Jerseys run $59.99 to $69.99, and a Winnie the Pooh sweatshirt is $49.99, WDWNT reported.
What else changed at Disney World this week?
A few smaller things:
-
The Tangled restrooms mural in Fantasyland has been repainted in brighter gold, pink and purple, WDWNT reported.
-
The pretzel cart at EPCOT’s Germany pavilion is gone, and Disney hasn’t said why, KennythePirate reported.
-
The Citizens of Hollywood and Galactic Starcruiser’s Saja characters returned for a private Hollywood Studios event Oct. 20, WDWNT reported.
So if you’re a passholder hoping to see the parade, book Nov. 10 now while you still can.
