Lord Voldemort Joins Mattel’s Harry Potter Design Collection Today!

Last month, we saw that Mattel Creations was starting a collection of premium dolls from the Harry Potter franchise. The boy wizard, of course, kicked off the line, but we were waiting for the other two characters to drop. Looks like that is happening today!

At 9 AM PT, Lord Voldemort joins Mattel’s Harry Potter Design Collection. Thankfully, Tom Riddle won’t be as expensive as the last Mattel doll I covered. Instead of being $150 like Maleficent was, the muggle-hating wizard will only set you back $65.

Mattel’s artists caught some of Ralph Fiennes’s features while making He-Who-Must-Not-Be Named’s snake-like face more appealing to doll collectors. I like the added touch of adding a clip to the Elder wand so that Voldemort could hold it in a more movie-accurate manner.

Mattel makes it clear that Voldemort can’t stand on his own. You must use the included doll stand to prop up the evil wizard. I mean, look at those dainty bare feet! There’s no way those are stable.

Voldemort is decked out in “silken” green robes. His inner robe appears to have a snakeskin pattern. I’m a bit concerned with the material used to add the details that line his cloak. I recently unboxed some of my 20+-year-old Sideshow dolls with the same type of soft goods and found that these prints had started peeling off.

Lord Voldemort comes with the following features and accessories:

  • High-quality doll with premium finishes and materials
  • Wears silken green robes and holds the Elder Wand
  • Stands 12 inches tall
  • Arrives in textured packaging with gold foil and story details for display
  • Includes Certificate of Authenticity
