LEGO Harry Potter Expands Hogwarts Castle with The Great Hall!

Hogwarts Castle: The Great Hall is the latest LEGO Harry Potter set to expand the massive magical grounds! Item #76435 is comprised of 1,732 and comes with 11 Minifigures!

Priced at $199.99, The Great Hall is one of the most giant sets so far that makes up Hogwarts. The other parts released so far are the Owlery, Boathouse, Hargid’s Hut, Astronomy Tower, Dumbledore’s Office, Chamber of Secrets, and the Room of Requirement.

It’s unclear if all of these sets will easily fit into place once larger kits are released or if they will replace the older pieces. If you’ve not collected the previous releases, I’d suggest getting on that ASAP. Once a kit is discontinued, it gets costly on the reseller market.

The Great Hall focuses on the Philosopher’s Stone story elements, including Professor Quirrell, the troll, and the dungeon from the book’s climax. Yes, even the bathroom has destructible elements.

Multiple areas are modular, allowing builders to remove them from the great hall for more effortless playability. I can see this one looking really great with a light kit (see our Home Alone LEGO review for more on those).

The Great Hall also includes five random portraits. There are 14 total to collect.

Although the Great Hall is great, I hoped it would be broader and deeper. The reduction is probably to help keep the price down while making it scale better with future sets, but considering how expansive this area is on screen, it looks more like a wizard’s break room than a massive dining room.

Regardless, it will be a great addition to your LEGO Harry Potter collection, especially if you’ve been working towards constructing the entirety of Hogwarts Castle. What do you think the next area will be? Let us know your thoughts!
