Kia Corporation and Disney have announced a major collaboration that will bring themed display options from franchises like Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars™, and National Geographic into Kia vehicles. The US-market roll-out begins this year and will expand globally through 2026.
What’s Changing Inside the Car
Eligible Kia vehicles equipped with the ccNC (Connected Car Navigation Cockpit) infotainment system will receive downloadable “Display Themes.” These themes include distinctive graphics, animations and color schemes across the driver-display, infotainment screen and startup sequences. Kia explains that each theme integrates character art and design elements from popular entertainment worlds, turning everyday drives into immersive visual experiences.
Kia Senior Vice President Charles Ryu commented,
“This collaboration with Disney represents a ground-breaking use of our digital and over-the-air systemsi to allow owners to customize not just the appearance, but the personality of their vehicles with the art of characters from some of the most beloved cinematic worlds ever created.
Kia aims to establish itself as the industry’s most approachable mobility brand both through its innovative product design and the advanced use of smart technology. ”
Roll-Out Plans & Subscription Details
Five major franchises will launch themes by the end of 2025 — Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars™, and National Geographic. Jointly, Kia aims to offer up to 30 individual themes worldwide by end of 2026.
Themes will be accessible through the Kia Connect Store, where owners can purchase and download them. Meaning this is a way for Kia to make more money on cars they already sold. At least they aren’t asking customers to pay extra to use something like AWD or heated seats.
A valid Kia Connect subscription is required; themes only work on vehicles equipped with the ccNC system and cannot be transferred to other vehicles. Over-the-air updates may incur additional costs and vary by model, year, or trim.
