Kevin Feige’s Star Wars Project No Longer Moving Forward

Another day, another Star Wars project down the drain. In what has become a pattern at Lucasfilm another Star Wars film that had been previously announced is seemingly no longer in production. However this project wasn’t being made by just your run of the mill director, but the current head of Marvel himself, Kevin Feige.

At the premier event of the MCU’s latest film The Marvels Kevin was interviewed by Entertainment Tonight, who asked Kevin multiple questions related to the film and the MCU as a whole. They ended the interview with one last question that related to if his previously announced Star Wars movie, specifically if it was still happening. He then shook his head and plainly said “No“.

Originally announced in 2019, the world of Marvel was planned to meet the world of Star Wars (in a figurative way) with one of the visionaries behind the helm of the largely successful Marvel Cinematic Universe. He would have been given he opportunity to give his own creative flair to the galaxy far far away.

While not confirmed there were many rumors surrounding what his film would be. The most popular rumor being that it would be set during the High Republic era and would have starred Marvel actress Brie Larson as Jedi Master Avar Kriss due to his at the time working relationship with the actress. Again this was never confirmed.

Kevin Feige’s film is the latest in a line of scrapped Star Wars films. While no reason has been given as to why the usual answer is “creative differences“. The project now joins the pile of other canceled films alongside Colin Trevorrow’s Duel of the Fates, Patty Jenkins’ Rogue Squadron and Ran Johnson’s unmade Trilogy.

When will Lucasfilm come together and make another Star Wars film? Has Star Wars jet become another television brand? Let us know your thoughts on the situation.
