Kathryn Hahn Reportedly In Talks With Disney To Play Mother Gothel In “Tangled”

Recently, Disney announced the casting for Rapunzel and Flynn Rider for their upcoming live-action “Tangled” film. Many started asking who would play Mother Gothel, and the internet has been letting Disney know Kathryn Hahn would be a good choice.  Now it appears their wishes may be coming true as Deadline has announced the Agatha Harkness actress is in talks with Disney now.

Previously, it was thought that Scarlett Johansson could play the character, but now the sights have been set on Hahn, who I think would be a better fit. Haun also sang on “Agatha All Along,” so we know she can carry a tune.

So far, we know that Teagan Croft has been cast as Rapunzel and Milo Manheim will play Flynn Rider. Haun would be a solid casting choice for Mother Gothel.

X seems to be excited by the possibility

“This actually works. Hahn can do charming and unsettling, which is exactly what Gothel needs.” – Disaster-Proof Life

“This casting actually makes a lot of sense. Mother Gothel isn’t just a villain she’s manipulative, charming, and psychologically sharp. Kathryn Hahn has the range to make her unsettling without turning her into a caricature.” – Yshak

“Kathryn Hahn has that theatrical presence where every line feels calculated, which is perfect for Gothel’s psychological control.” -LAMIS.base.eth – Zetarium

“Kathryn Hahn as Gothel sounds spot on, she’ll nail the creepy but charming vibe.” – Neural Network

I agree. Hahn would be a solid choice for the character. It’s not one that would be easy to pull off, but I think she could do it well. I do hope she gets the role.
