Universal Orlando does not have many special fireworks-based events. The reasons for this are numerous, such as the location in Orlando city limits and local noise ordinances. However, on June 21st, Universal Orlando Resort announced that the resort will be hosting a July 4th event. The title of the press release tells us that Universal Orlando Resort will host some exciting July 4th festivities in celebration of USA’s Independence Day. We learned that the event will involve live music, character meet and greets, and some pyrotechnics.
The press release gave us a few more details. Universal Orlando Resort will feature special entertainment at Universal Studios Florida on July 4 to celebrate Independence Day, including a high-energy band, live DJ, meet & greets with Universal’s most popular characters, and patriotic-themed performers and stilt walkers. The activities are included with admission to Universal Studios Florida – allowing guests to top off an epic day of theme park thrills with patriotic fun.
The festivities will kick off on Monday, July 4 at 5 p.m. and run through park close at the Music Plaza in Universal Studios Florida theme park, which will be decked out in festive décor and all things red, white and blue. The celebration will culminate with special pyrotechnics display at 9 p.m. that guests can view throughout the theme park.
Universal Orlando wants to let everyone know that guests can also enjoy Universal Studios Florida’s most thrilling experiences, including rocking out to hit songs at 65 m.p.h. on Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, battling alongside Optimus Prime and Bumblebee in TRANSFORMERS: The Ride – 3D, and viewing Universal Orlando’s Cinematic Celebration – a spectacular nighttime show that combines pyrotechnics, water, music and lights to pay tribute to beloved characters from Universal attractions and some of the world’s biggest films.
Also over in California, Universal Studios Hollywood is celebrating Independence Day all weekend long from July 2 – 4 with special in-park activities. As things return to normal for theme park operations after the closure during 2022, this event will make a nice opportunity to celebrate in a theme park. No matter which coast you visit, the Universal Parks have some fireworks to celebrate July 4th. I wish you a happy July 4th holiday.
