Earlier today we told you about the State of Florida prohibiting the consumption of alcohol on premises for bars. Now we are starting to see the results of this statewide ban in Disney Springs.
Both Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar and Lounge and Dockside Margaritas have been temporarily shuttered over the state mandate. Jock Lindsey’s only reopened yesterday.
Wine Bar George hasn’t been shut down as it considered a restaurant. Also the outdoor kiosks are still open, as I mentioned in the other article, could be the case as they are take and go.
The shutdown was ordered after the positive COVID-19 cases reached over 8,900 today in Florida. As a result the Secretary of Florida’s Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Halsey Beshears tweeted the following:
Effective immediately, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation is suspending on premises consumption of alcohol at bars statewide.

There hasn’t been any indication of how long this will remain in effect, or how it could impact the Walt Disney World parks when they reopen. Since most alcohol is served in restaurants and kiosks, it shouldn’t be too much of an issue. Many are wondering how it will impact the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival that will be starting early this year, on July 15, when the park reopens.
We will keep you posted with updates.
