Is City Works Disney Springs Worth a Taco Tuesday Visit?

National Taco Day falls on October 4. City Works Disney Springs offered a discount promotion for its rewards members for that day only. We decided to make City Works Disney Springs our destination for National Taco Day. Was it worth it? Is it okay to have a taco when it is not Taco Tuesday?

City Works Eatery and Pour House Disney Springs provides a great place to watch a sporting event. It also features an excellent list of beer options to enjoy while dining here. At Walt Disney World, this makes one of the best options for a sports bar-type setting.

This location is a part of a national chain of restaurants. You can sign up for their reward program, which can be used at the Disney Springs location. We used this reward program to receive a discount on our tacos during this recent visit.

Tacos at City Works Disney Springs

We visited City Works Disney Springs for a lunchtime meal about a month ago. On that day, we ordered the Ahi Tuna Tacos for $22. Then, we received three reasonable-sized tacos. We expected more spice with these tacos, but our first bites came with a sweet kick. However, we found the heat in the second bite. We wished the spices were more balanced, but the flavor overall works. These tacos utilized soft tortillas, which we enjoyed.

The tacos at City Works Disney Springs come with tortilla chips. The chips feature a thick texture, which makes a good medium to dip into the salsa.

On that trip, we had some significant issues with billing and the reward program. Those issues were resolved several weeks later. Still, that experience tainted our time at City Works Disney Springs.

Chicken Tinga Tacos- $19.50

So, we needed to go back and try the tacos again at City Works Disney Springs. For the record, National Taco Day did not fall on Tuesday. However, we love the idea of finding a go-to place for Taco Tuesday, so this trip to City Works helped with that decision. City Works offers five different types of tacos.

During this visit, we decided to order Chicken Tinga Tacos. The menu description for them reads, “House-smoked spicy pulled chicken, avocado mash, pickled red onion, grilled corn, micro cilantro, queso fresco, flour tortillas.

When ordering tacos here, the servers ask if chips and salsa are okay. We learned that the other options are French fries or a side salad.

We went for a late lunch on a weekday. When the tacos arrived, the aroma was pleasing. The chips and salsa were like my previous experience. The tomatillo-style salsa might not be everyone’s preference, but we felt it worked nicely.

Spice Level

The tacos presented more than typical theme park-level spice. The flavor works, however. The chicken featured is well prepared. Still, people adverse to spice should avoid this item.

The portion size of the chicken exceeded the usual taco standards. Still, on this day, the tortilla did not hold up as well as during previous experiences with tacos here. Nonetheless, that did not take away from the quality of the taco contents. The merger of the avocado mash, pickled onions, and queso fresco enhances these tacos.

The price point looks a bit high. However, when you factor in the quality of flavor and variety of taco contents, these tacos make decent value.

Do the Chicken Tinga Tacos at City World Disney Springs deserve to be a Taco Tuesday go-to? These were good. They made a good choice for National Taco Day. Of course, these tacos may not be for everyone. Well, you must decide for yourself if City Works Disney Springs makes a good Taco Tuesday option.
