Is ‘Cabin Alone’ the Macaulay Culkin ‘Home Alone’ Sequel on Disney Plus?

After a slew of forgettable sequels not starring Macaulay Culkin, a rumor has been circulating that the star of the original Home Alone could be returning to the franchise. Is Cabin Alone the Home Alone sequel we’ve all been hoping for? Is it really coming to Disney Plus?

While I, for one, would be totally for the former child star to right the ship after the disastrous Home Sweet Home Alone, the rumors appear incorrect. Via The Direct, we learned that the rumored Disney Plus Cabin Alone movie is nothing more than that … a rumor.

According to the article, the idea of a Disney Plus sequel started with a poster that was not very good. It showed an adult Kevin McCallister front and center with the fictional film’s title above him. The Cabin Alone mockup artwork also featured a Disney Plus release date of December 18, 2023.

The alleged sequel also came with a plot summary; however, The Direct did not link to where this quote or poster came from:

It sounds plausible enough. DB Cooper’s body and part of the $200,000 ransom were never found after he jumped from a Boeing 727-51 in 1971. It makes for an exciting story and a convenient reason for Kevin to encounter a band of criminals once again.

Even though the rumor is false, Disney still has plenty of time to tap Macaulay Culkin to return to the Home Alone franchise. Maybe Cabin Alone could become a reality.
