Inside Out 2 Crosses $1 Billion At Global Box Office

Disney has finally broken $1 billion at the box office once again, this time with Pixar, which faced layoffs just a couple of months ago. Worries about Pixar no longer being the powerhouse it once was are not gone after they massively delivered at the box office.

This proves that giving audiences a good movie that is what they expect and want, will create support for it. (Looking at you, “Lightyear”.)

After three weekends at the box office, the film will cross the $1 billion worldwide box office mark, earning $469 million domestically and $545 million internationally for a $1.05 billion total box office.  This is the first time a Disney film has crossed the $1 billion mark since “Avatar: The Way of Water,” which was released in December 2022.

This weekend, “Inside Out 2” will likely earn about $57.4 million domestically, which will keep the film number one for the weekend. However, “Despicable Me 4” will be released next weekend and will likely take the top spot.

Disney is poised to do well this year with “Deadpool & Wolverine” (releasing on July 26, 2024,) “Alien Romulus” (releasing on August 16, 2024,) and “Moana 2” (releasing on November 27, 2024.) There is a high probability that at least one of these could also break $1 billion globally.
