Hulu is expanding options for viewers seeking more Spanish-language content on its Live TV platform. It is introducing a dedicated Spanish-language programming bundle for $29.99 a month.
The new bundle is designed to meet the growing demand from Spanish-speaking audiences in the United States. It will offer a curated set of channels focused on news, sports, and entertainment provided in Spanish.
What the Spanish-Language Bundle Includes
The new package will include “Bandamax, CNN en Español, De Película, De Película Clásico, Discovery en Español, Discovery Familia, ESPN Deportes, N+Foro, FOX Deportes, Galavisión, History en Español, Hogar HGTV, Nat Geo Mundo, TUDN, Telehit, Telehit Música, tlnovelas, UNIMÁS, and Univision.”
Telemundo is not included in this package, but it is part of the current Hulu + Live TV package that costs about $90 a month.
The expanded option is part of Hulu’s strategy to diversify its live and on-demand offerings by tailoring them to the varied preferences of its subscriber base, including multilingual households and viewers who want more content in Spanish.
What this means for Disney
As the industry continues to expand upon offerings in various languages, Disney is taking the lead. Currently, they have partnerships with major Spanish-language content producers, with multi-region deals between Disney Entertainment and TelevisaUnivision, which brought channels like Univision, UniMás, TUDN, and Galavisión to the Hulu + Live TV lineup in the U.S. core package.
Given that YouTube and other competitors are also aggressively announcing Spanish-language-focused packages and offerings, Disney needs to keep up, and this offer is likely in response to the market.
