Hollywood Gets A Taste Of Their Own Medicine and Blames MAGA

We are going to file this one under opinion.  I’ve been doing pop culture news and Disney news for a long time. Until the goal post moved that anything right of far left was “alt-right,” I would have always been a Democrat or at least a strong left-leaning Moderate. (Trust me it’s relevant.)

Hollywood has spent the last several years trying very hard to lose the moderate audience. Since everyone right of far-left is now labeled”alt-right” or “MAGA” I think they have lost most of the audience.

This is easily proven by the cratering box offices, cancelled shows, and the plummet in late-night TV viewership.

How many times have you tuned into late-night shows, The View, etc., and it was all constant political jabs and commentary?

The “normies” are tired. But now they are also getting angry.

People are sick and tired of certain media outlets and Hollywood labeling anyone that doesn’t 100% agree with them or their friends as “MAGA.”

Think it’s wrong to celebrate murder, well that’s because you are “MAGA.”  Feel that agenda shouldn’t be shoved into every show or movie, welp, you are “MAGA.”

Tired of talking heads and unfunny late-night hosts making everything political all the time. Guess what you are “MAGA.”

At least according to Hollywood.

Cancel Culture Run Amuck

The last several years have been marked by constant cancellation attempts from those who are on the “left.” If anyone is politically right in Hollywood, they become a target, and you don’t even have to actually be on the right. If they assumed it or you were guilty of “wrongthink,” they came after you.

Roseanne Barr (her comments were crap though,) Tim Allen, James Woods, Gina Carano, Dave Chappelle, Joe Rogan, they’ve been trying hard to get Chris Pratt, etc.  One woman was even fired from a gaming company because he was excited about “Hogwarts Legacy,” and some crazed person went through all their Tweets till they found one from years prior to complain about and got them fired.

Hollywood, certain media outlets, social media, etc., have set the rules and now that people are applying the same rules to them, it’s suddenly a “violation of free speech” and “fascism.” Never mind all the people they did it to for years.

They are seemingly fine with it when it’s a weapon only they can wield.

I am against cancel culture. I am for free speech.

Personally, I do not believe Kimmel should have his show cancelled, but should have apologized.

However, like these people kept screaming “freedom of speech is not freedom from consequences.”

Frankly, labeling everyone who disagrees with you or thinks you are out of line “MAGA” is just turning more people against you.  As shocking as it may be to some Hollywood people, there are those that are not Trump supporters who feel they are out of line. Middle America is sick of it.

If they keep this up, they could hasten their career demise as studios turn to AI just to avoid potential issues with problematic celebrities. The way they are making demands of Disney, including people who currently work for Disney, may be enough for studios to stop calling. I don’t think the audience will care if some of these people stop getting work if it means not hearing about politics and Agenda 24/7.

Just a thought.
