There are all kinds of nods to the popular attraction.

These “Easter eggs” are based on all the versions of the Haunted Mansion attraction including the original Disneyland version, the Walt Disney World version, Tokyo Disneyland, Phantom Manor in Disneyland Paris and Mystic Manor in Hong Kong Disneyland.

The Tomb Sweet Tomb sampler, the candelabra, the door, the doorknob, and ghost portraits.

Hanging portraits and the infamous Haunted Mansion wallpaper.

The furniture, wainscoting, curtains, busts, etc., all harken back to the attraction.

The aquarium has phantom fish just like Rolly Crump had wanted.

Over the fireplace is a miniature 13 hour clock and a changing portrait of the Flying Dutchman ship that can be seen in the ride.

Madame Leoto’s seance instruments are on the wall.

The famous Haunted Mansion chair (Donald Duck chair) makes an appearance by a window with a full moon!

The ballroom dancers appear in the mirror at behind the bar. So will Madame Leota and the Hitchhiking Ghosts!

So many more references are around the room.

A New Story!

For this attraction a new tale is spun to fit the Disney Treasure.

Now a doomed couple is featured. The captain is featured as almost the new Master Gracey. The story is based on Marc Davis’s Mariner storyline.

“Tales of the doomed couple’s first encounter all began when the captain received a dramatic distress transmission from another vessel. He wasted no time in altering his course to aid in the rescue, but as he neared the source of the call, he found only a mangled wreckage and a lone survivor — a woman floating amongst the debris,” reads Disney’s synopsis. “With bright green eyes, chestnut hair, and a golden key hanging about her neck, it is no wonder that the captain was immediately taken by her beauty. The pair became inseparable and were soon engaged to be wed.” But, as guests can tell by looking at the bride’s portrait in the right light, the captain might not have married the woman he thought he fell for.”

It’s all very exciting!
