Universal Orlando Resort opened the new Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure (we will just call it Hagrid’s because I am not writing that out each time) on June 13th.
Due to the overwhelming response to the ride, and long wait times, they released this Operations Update on their app.
In a nutshell the demand and weather has made it difficult for maintenance and tech support to keep up with the new attraction and to allow time for those things they are opening the attraction at midday.
Here’s the thing, if the ride wasn’t ready they probably shouldn’t have opened it yet. People went by the opening date to book trips based on this attraction. There were rumors about ride car/ track issues just weeks before opening, but they must have gotten most of that worked out. Overall it just sounds like they rushed it to open and it wasn’t ready.
It’s understandable why they did this with summer starting and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge coming soon to Walt Disney World. To their credit they are doing what they can to meet demand and work out the bugs.
Just expect delays and know that it won’t open until “midday” for the next couple of weeks. I’m sure the lines will still start prior to opening so make sure you figure that into your Universal plans.
