Gal Gadot Says “Snow White” Failed Because of Pressure To Speak Out Against Israel

The “Snow White” debacle won’t die. Now the Evil Queen actress has waded into the political discourse by saying that the movie failed due to “the pressure on celebrities to bring up things against Israel.”  But hey, she said nice things about Rachel Zegler.

What did Gal Gadot say?

In context, Gadot was on an Israeli TV network speaking to “amateur journalists who are on the autism spectrum” when she was asked if she was angry about what happened.

Gadot said that she really liked working on the film.

The interviewer asked, “especially working with Rachel Zegler?” Gadot replied, “I even enjoyed working with Rachel Zegler. We laughed, talked, and had fun.

Then she discussed how she was certain the film was going to be a “huge hit.”  But then said what happened in October (2023)  caused pressure to be put on Hollywood to speak out against Israel.

“I can always explain and try to give people in the world a context about what’s happening, and what the reality is here, but in the end, people decide for themselves. I was disappointed that the movie was greatly affected by that and didn’t do well at the box office.”

Is this really why “Snow White” failed?

Unlikely. The movie suffered from many problems. Constant delays, a bad script, changes to Walt Disney’s legacy story, creepy CGI dwarfs, iffy acting (looking at you, Gal), and Rachel Zegler all led to its failure.

Honestly, Rachel Zegler and the creepy dwarfs were the biggest reason this film failed.

Zegler would not stop talking.

First, she talked about how the new film would not be like the dated original version because her Snow White was a leader.

I just mean that it’s no longer 1937. We absolutely wrote a ‘Snow White’ that … she’s not going to be saved by the prince, and she’s not going to be dreaming about true love; she’s going to be dreaming about becoming the leader she knows she can be and that her late father told her that she could be if she was fearless, fair, brave and true.”

Then she implied the prince was a stalker.

Did she stop there? No.

After those comments died down, she announced “it will always be free palestine” on her social media.

Immediately, people noticed that her comment might make promoting “Snow White” difficult, as Gal Gadot is from Israel. Reports indicate Zegler’s remarks led to Gadot’s family needing extra security.

To make sure that at least 1/2 the audience wouldn’t come to the movie, Zegler had a meltdown when President Trump won. During her meltdown, she implied that those who voted for Donald Trump had a “great sickness” and were “foolish, ” “patriotic”, and “hateful.” Then she wished Trump and all Trump voters no peace.

Was the film ruined by Gadot being Israeli?

While Gadot being from Israel did cause some to say they were going to boycott the film, it likely had very little impact when compared to Rachel Zegler’s behavior.

By the time the film was released, the general public no longer cared about it or actively rooted for it to fail.

Now we all just need to move on and let it rest, because no kiss is going to wake that disaster up.
