‘Frozen 2’ Breaks Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend Record

Frozen 2 has just broken the Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend Record at $123 million, surpassing the previous record holder, Hunger Games: Catching Fire in 2013.

So far the domestic total is $287.6 million and the global total is about $738.6 million. It’s headed for the $1 billion marker and according to The Hollywood Reporter it “has already surpassed the total lifetime gross of Frozen in 11 markets, including China, where it has earned a huge $90.5 million to date.”

The next closest for the five-day stretch was “Knives Out” directed by Rian Johnson, which came in at $41.7 million. There is still a wide stretch between first and second place.

It will be interesting to see just how high the totals for Frozen 2 go. People have been waiting for a sequel for awhile now, but the reviews are mixed on this one.
