Fortnite Coco leak shows a Dante sidekick ahead of Day of the Dead

A well-known Fortnite leaker posted a Coco graphic with Dante in both his dog and alebrije forms. Epic and Disney haven’t announced it, but the timing lines up with Dia de Muertos.

Dante might be the next good boy to run around the Fortnite island.

Fortnite leaker Feco, who posts as @Fecooo_ on X, shared a graphic on Friday, Oct. 30, 2026, with the caption “FORTNITE X COCO.” The image shows a sidekick based on Dante, the scruffy street dog from Pixar’s Coco, in both his regular form and his glowing alebrije form, WDW News Today reported.

That’s all the leak says. There’s no date, no price and no word from Epic Games or Disney.

WDWNT noted the caption “implies that there will be more collaborative cosmetic content to come,” so a Miguel or Hector skin could follow, but that part is a guess for now.

When is Coco coming to Fortnite?

Nobody official has said. We couldn’t find Epic, Disney or the big Fortnite news accounts confirming a release date as of Saturday morning, so treat this as a leak until the Item Shop says otherwise.

The calendar does make a pretty good case, though. Dia de Muertos, the Day of the Dead, falls on Nov. 1 and 2. Coco is probably the best-known movie about the holiday.

If Epic wanted a Coco drop, this weekend would be the obvious time.

Still, leaks don’t always land on the day fans expect. Sometimes the files show up weeks before the shop does.

What is a Fortnite sidekick?

Sidekicks are little companions that follow you around during a match. Epic revealed them on Oct. 30, 2025, and the first one, a banana-pet character named Peels, arrived on Nov. 1, 2025, with that season’s Battle Pass, according to esports.gg.

They’re purely for looks. Sidekicks give “no in-game advantage,” and enemies can’t see them during matches, esports.gg reported. You customize one once, and then the look locks in, though you can rename it any time.

Item Shop sidekicks usually cost 1,200 or 1,500 V-Bucks, per the same guide. If a Dante sidekick lands in that range, it’d be one of the cheaper ways to bring a Pixar character into the game.

A dog that changes into a neon spirit guide is a pretty great fit for that system. Dante spends most of Coco as a goofy Xoloitzcuintli with a very long tongue.

Then he turns into a glowing, winged alebrije near the end. Fortnite gets to show off both versions.

Why does Disney keep showing up in Fortnite?

Money, mostly. Disney put $1.5 billion into Epic Games in February 2024, and the two companies have been working on Disney projects inside Fortnite ever since.

Pixar has been busy there this fall. Toy Story 5: The Great Toy Rescue ran from Sept. 22 to Oct. 5, 2026, as a two-week event tied to the movie’s Disney+ premiere, D23 reported. Players rescued Woody, Buzz, Jessie, Rex, Hamm and Forky across a group of creator-built islands.

It hasn’t all been smooth. WDWNT, citing Bloomberg, reported that a Disney crossover shooter in the works at Epic has been delayed as the studio pushes an “AI-first” approach to making games. That project still hasn’t been officially announced.

What else is coming for Coco?

Plenty. Pixar is making Coco 2, which is set for 2029. The first movie came out on Nov. 22, 2017, and won two Oscars, for best animated feature and best original song, “Remember Me.”

It made around $800 million at the box office worldwide.

That staying power is why Coco keeps popping up in new places, from games to theme parks. A Fortnite sidekick is just the newest stop.

Is the Fortnite Coco leak real?

Feco is one of the better-known Fortnite leakers, and the Disney markings are on the image. But a leak is still a leak. Epic sometimes changes plans, delays items, or never releases things that show up in the game files.

Our advice: don’t spend your V-Bucks in your head just yet. If Dante shows up in the Item Shop this weekend, you’ll know. If he doesn’t, Coco 2 is only a few years away, and that one is officially announced.
