Disney’s Animal Kingdom has a safari attraction in Orlando called Kilimanjaro Safaris. During the ride, the vehicle crosses a bridge with crocodiles beneath it. Now someone who says they were a former guide/driver on the tour is spilling the tea about a rule that sounds terrible, but it’s there for a reason.
What happens if someone falls off the bridge into the crocodile area?
According to @william.rath on TikTok, the driver is instructed to immediately leave the area if a guest falls in.

Here is what he said,
“Yes,” drivers are instructed to drive off if someone falls. He does give an explanation, saying,
“There’s a reason for this, though. What we are trained during training is a lot about the crocodile pit because there is a bridge that goes right over the crocodiles. There’s no like no fence on top. So if someone falls out of the bus or the safari vehicle into that, it’s not good.
We are trained to drive off as soon as possible. We are basically told to be on that bridge as little as possible…..but the reason we are trained to drive off is if there’s a baby or something that falls into the crocodile pit, they’re not making it, and so we are told to drive off to limit the amount of victims….if a baby falls off and there’s a parent that is wanting to jump in and save them. They’re not saving that baby, so if they jump in they’re not getting saved either, because that’s just how it is with crocodiles. So yes, we are instructed to drive off.”
This makes sense as they want to limit the number of victims and get the other guests away from seeing something horrific happen.
It sounds terrible, but it makes sense.
Thankfully, no one has ever fallen into this area in all the decades the attraction has been running. I think we would all like to keep it that way.
I was surprised to learn that many people don’t even believe the area is real.

Yes, it is indeed real.
I can kind of understand why non-Parks fans would think it’s made-up, but there really is a bridge with crocodiles.
Again, drivers are trained on what to do IF this were to happen. It’s not a likely scenario, and it has never happened, but it could.
