Governor Ron DeSantis has just announced that travel restriction for guests visiting Florida from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut have now been lifted. Previously it had been extended until early September, but that has been canceled.
Prior to today, if you wanted to visit Florida from those three states, you were required to self-quarantine for two weeks. This was put into place when the tri-state area was facing a large amount of cases and deaths, but in the last few weeks Florida has been a surge themselves, and some states have quarantines in place if you have traveled to Florida. At one point, if you were from New York you would face a 2-week quarantine entering Florida and a 2-week quarantine returning to New York.
Just because they stopped the quarantine into Florida does not mean that your state doesn’t require a quarantine period if you visit Florida, so make sure to check with your state regulations and keep on top of updates.
