Flavors of Florida Review: Orange Pilsner Goat Cheese Dip and Margaritas at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar

Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar is one of those spots that I don’t think gets enough attention. Even without mentioning the Flavors of Florida specials, this spot has always been the place to get good food and drinks when trying to escape the heat.

Can the Hanger Bar surpass last year’s offerings? We went to Disney Springs to find out.

I was a bit disappointed that Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar wasn’t bringing back last year‘s tacos. Those were good. Instead, the airplane-themed dive opted for a basic cheese dip and Margarita.

While well made, the Orange Tangerine Frozen Margarita isn’t distinct enough to be considered a must-have during the Flavors of Florida event. It tasted like most other citrus-based margaritas I’ve had in the past.

It may be that the Minute Maid lemonade used in the Margarita was too overpowering. Why not substitute a Florida-based citrus beverage instead? When I think Minute Maid, all that comes to mind is lots of unnecessary sugar and chemicals.

However, it did taste better once I paired it with the Orange Pilsner Goat Cheese Dip.

The dip is served cold, and you get a surprisingly small number of chips with it. Then again, the serving size of the dip is also minuscule.

However, the taste is what matters. At first, it might be hard to spot the citrus influence from the Sunshine Stroll Orange Pilsner. That’s where the Margarita comes in. Bite, then sip. Suddenly, it all comes alive!

I wish the serving size were more significant. The Orange Tangerine Frozen Margarita is appropriately huge, but if you’re going to try out the Flavors of Florida offerings, you’ll definitely want to order more food.

Regardless, I will always recommend newcomers try out Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar. Something I have noticed is that it is very popular with European guests. I wonder why?
