You cannot possibly go to Walt Disney World without having a DOLE Whip. Flavors of Florida at Disney Springs is no different. Yes, I’m the type of person who will drive 70+ miles to get this one iconic treat and then go home.
Swirls on the Water, the spot we’ve been reviewing DOLE Whips from for years, had a new treat for the Sunshine State celebration. The Orange Bird Nest from last year accompanied the Key Lime Pie Sundae and the Orange Bird Float.
We covered the Orange Bird Nest last year, so we opted for the sundae and float. They were well worth the tradeoff!
The float comes in a souvenir cup branded with this year’s Flavors of Florida iconography. The container is a bit thin, so be careful storing it for the trip home.
It is packed with a swirl of orange and watermelon DOLE Whip, a flavor combo we had a few times since 2021. It’s definitely a winner and less tangy than the traditional version of the classic soft serve.
Since it was pretty hot that day, the ice-cold Fanta helped to cool things off as we wrapped up our day of eating multiple treats throughout Disney Springs.
While the float was good, the Key Lime Pie Sundae was even better!
These sorts of concoctions can be hit or miss. Last year’s Halloween Trio was a dud. However, this latest specialty soft serve did everything right!

The lime DOLE Whip is served in a waffle bowl lined with graham cracker crumbs. It’s incredible and topped with whipped cream, a gummy lime, and a Key Lime drizzle.
Seriously, man! If you freeze a slice for a few hours, this DOLE Whip tastes like real Key Lime pie. The graham cracker helps bring all the flavors home. I’m debating driving back out to Swirls on the Water just to have another go at it.
