Five Heroes That Could Potentially Appear In The MCU

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has become one of the biggest franchises in Hollywood history next to series like Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter and Fast & Furious. The concept of developing multiple films at once all at different points while sharing characters and stories became extremely popular.

Ever since 2008 films in the MCU have (mostly) brought in a large amount of success with the large cast of characters adapted from the pages of Marvel Comics. With a large amount of characters now being retired or deceased Marvel is looking for more heroes to adapt to the big screen to be the next big lineup. Let’s take a look at five examples of some potential candidates who might join the MCU in the future.

1 – Hercules

First appearing in 1965, Hercules is the half-god son of Zeus, king of the greek gods. His immortal parentage gave him amazing powers as birth, making him the strongest man who ever lived. He has been known for his rivalry with Thor and has been able to match The Hulk in a fight. Having him appear as the new muscle for the Avengers since Bruce Banner is now more Brain than Brawn would be interesting.

2 – Hellcat

First appearing in 1944, Patsy Walker was the wife of Daimon Hellstorm, the Son of Satan. Upon learning of her husband’s powers and seeing his true face she died and went to hell. After being resurrected she gained abilities from the underworld, including a magical cat themed costume with retractable claws. She became a powerful member of both the Avengers and Defenders. She did appear in Netflix’s non-canon Jessica Jones but only in a minor role.

3 – Sentry

First appearing in 2000, Robert Reynolds is a hero with seemingly limitless power. Having taking a super serum that is far more powerful than that of Captain America giving him the strength of one million suns. He has been a valuable member of the Avengers on multiple occasions, but his schizophrenia makes him a ticking time bomb.

4 – Songbird

First introduced in 1979, Melissa Gold aka Songbird is a heroine with the ability to shoot sonic waves using vibrations from her vocal cords and even has the ability to create “solid sound”. Originally a villain who eventually joined the Avengers having her appear as an “enhanced” like Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver wouldn’t seem out of the question.

5 – Wonder Man

First appearing in 1964, actor turned superhero Simon Williams has a large array of powers from flight, to extreme durability and super strength gained from his use of ionic energy from Baron Zemo. He was originally meant to appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 played by Nathan Fillion, but all references to his cameo were cut. Perhaps he will get another chance in the future.

What do you think? Do these heroes have a chance of showing up in the MCU?
