Five Great Dark Rides Only At Disneyland/California Adventure

Disneyland is often called the most magical place on earth. It has multiple rides and experiences for the entire family. The park is full of magical experiences you can’t get anywhere else. That often includes rides that are nowhere to be seen at any other North American Disney Park.

Today we will be highlighting some great experiences you won’t find in any of the Florida Parks

Alice in Wonderland

Originally opening in 1958 the Alice in Wonderland ride takes you on a journey down the rabbit hole and into a bizarre world of characters that may seem odd to us, but to them we are the odd ones. Ride upon a caterpillar and see the strange wonders that await you.

Snow White’s Enchanted Wish

Originally opening in 1955 this attraction went by “Snow White and Her Adventures” until 1983 when it was renamed to “Snow White’s Scary Adventures.” It was rethemed and renamed again in 2021 to be “Snow White’s Enchanted Wish;” Follow the young princess Snow White as she flees her evil stepmother and comes across seven funny little dwarfs who all live in a little cottage.

Though there was a version in Magic Kingdom that version was permanently closed in 2012, so now you can only experience it here.

Indiana Jones: Adventure

Originally opening in 1995 as “Indiana Jones: Temple of the Forbidden Eye”, the attractions has guests “follow the thrill seeking, treasure hunting, whip cracking adventurer Indiana Jones as he seeks the hidden treasure of the Forbidden Eye. Avoid giant snakes, spiders, fire and a giant tumbling boulder.”

Though the track system was re-used for Dinosaur in Animal Kingdom you can only join Indiana Jones on his adventures in Disneyland.

Pinocchio’s Daring Journey

Opening in 1983, this ride enabled guests to “join Pinocchio the talking puppet and his little friend Jiminy Cricket as they venture out into the world. But be careful, because if you take a wrong turn you never know where you might end up at. You could even end up swallowed whole by a gigantic whale.

Monsters Inc. Mike & Sully to the Rescue

Originally opening in 2005 replacing the unpopular “Superstar Limo” attraction this attraction invites guests to “join Mike and Sully as they are on the run from Randall and venture through  Monstropolis to try and send the young child they nicknamed “Boo” back home.”

These are just some of the great Dark Rides the park has to offer. Other attractions like Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride and Roger Rabbit Car-Toon Spin are also great attractions, along with other popular stables like Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh.
