ESPN Makes College GameDay Coverage Free Due To YouTube TV Dispute

As Disney continues to fight with YouTube TV over a carriage deal, ESPN has made its College GameDay coverage free so those impacted by the blackout can still watch.

This is the second week that ESPN has done this.

How to watch.

ESPN will put the three-hour pregame show on the ESPN App at no charge. It can also be seen on Pat McAfee’s X page.

For the second straight weekend, ESPN is making the three-hour pregame show available at no charge on the ESPN App. The show is also streaming on Pat McAfee‘s Twitter page.

ESPN P.R. on X posted the following yesterday,

“As we continue to work on reaching a fair resolution with YouTube TV so they can restore our networks, this week College GameDay will be available, once again, to all fans on the ESPN App with no subscription or authentication needed”.

Disney is likely using this opportunity to put pressure on YouTube TV while also building up its ESPN App.

Yesterday, an internal Disney memo was “leaked” to the press addressing the carriage deal negotiations. The heads of Disney Entertainment and ESPN sent out the letter, which does seem to be crafted as a PR piece made to paint Google’s YouTube TV as the villain.

Google responded by saying they believe the memo was intentionally leaked, and Disney is demanding too much.

It’s a huge mess for sure, but you don’t have to miss the College GameDay coverage.
