Epic Universe Is Already Expanding

Epic Universe has only been open for a few months and it’s already getting ready to expand. On November 7, a permit was filed for new construction on a 150,000 square foot area inside Epic Universe. There were no other details other than“site utilities and foundation work”.  Now there appears to be confirmation of an expansion.

We do know that the end date for the construction is listed as May 7, 2026.

The Orlando Business Journal reached out to Universal Orlando about the permit and got confirmation that there are indeed new additions coming to Epic Universe,

“Universal Orlando is preparing for some exciting additions to Universal Epic Universe in the future. … Details about specific developments will be shared in due time.”

The large area has led to speculation that it could be an addition to the Harry Potter area. According to WDWNT,

“As this new building would be roughly the size of the Le Cirque Arcanus show building and Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry combined, it has led to rampant speculation that this is the first new ride being constructed at Epic Universe since the park’s opening earlier this year. If the rumors are true, the addition would be to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic.”

We really don’t know yet what the addition will be.  Given that they have already teased “The Legend of Zelda” coming to Epic Universe, it could be something there as well.
