After years of waiting for the ugly construction barriers to come down, we’re finally getting to see Disney’s grand reimagining of the once-futuristic area of EPCOT. CommuniCore Hall made its grand debut last week, but the reception has been anything but enthusiastic.
As reported last week, CommuniCore Hall is supposed to be a multi-purpose seasonal area for EPCOT’s various events. However, as of today, it looks like a terminal you’d find at a seldom-used airport.
Have you ever been to Ithaca Tompkins International Airport? Yeah … Communicore Hall is that drab, dull, and boring. It looks like an area where you’d drop your elderly parents off while you wait 3 hours to get on Frozen Ever After, hoping they’ll still be alive when you get back.
Traveling vlogger Adam the Woo was also unimpressed with CommuniBore:
Blog Mickey pointed out that Disney once again overpromised and underdelivered. For years, we were shown concepts that would have brought EPCOT’s ’80s aesthetic into the present. As the walls remained up, guests started to notice that the grand plans were getting increasingly scaled back.
There were also some interesting design choices. Once the construction walls came down, we were treated by a fancy concrete vagina behind Spaceship Earth!

You know me. I’m all for smut and Duckman-styled twists on family-friendly things, but good grief. Even I couldn’t make something this intentionally feminine if I tried.
At least we have a new covered stage area. This could mean events like Food & Wine may expand their offerings regarding demonstrations and acts. It is currently being used for the temporary audience participation show ¡Celebración Encanto!
As I mentioned yesterday, the closure of Test Track 2.0 and the lack of quick churn and burn rides will make summertime at EPCOT difficult for guests. We’ve already seen what happens when people get a little too tipsy.
