Do not tell Disney security you are there to blow up something, or they will take you seriously. That’s what food delivery driver Tadeo Miguel Angel Bessacolmenares, 45, found out when he did this exact thing on September 29, 2024.
What happened?
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, Bessacolmenares, a food delivery driver, arrived at the security gate for Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, and instead of telling the security guard that he was delivering food, he said he was there to “blow up the resort,” and a had a trunk full of explosives.
Actually, after Bessocolmenares said he was there to “blow up the resort,” the security guard allegedly said, “Excuse me?” and then he claimed that the trunk of his white Corolla was packed with explosives.
“The driver once again stated that he was there to blow up the resort, that his trunk was full of explosives, and giggled.”
Then, the driver told security his real purpose was to deliver food, but at that point, the security guard couldn’t let him in and had to call Disney management. Apparently, the police were also called at some point.
Bessocolmenares parked his car and waited. The car had to be swept for explosives, which it didn’t have. But the damage was done. He was arrested and trespassed from the Disney property for an awful joke.
Do not threaten to blow up anything, even as a joke. (I can’t believe I have to write this.)
This is why you should never make jokes like this in public places. People do not know if you are kidding or not. It has to be taken seriously immediately, and it’s a hassle for everyone. Then your family and friends will laugh at you or be completely embarrassed by your dumb arsery.
You will never live it down. Ever!
Plus, it was a deluxe resort. I’m sure they really don’t play when it’s their coveted demographic.
I hope someone let the Disney guest who ordered food know what was happening. As a customer, I would not be happy.
Don’t be like Bessocolmenares.
