Aside from the playable roster, multiple Trolls from the Trolls franchise appear as special augments for your cars to give you extra boots or bonuses.
Despite the seemingly decent-sized roster fans are disappointed with the lack of certain characters such as Skipper from Madagascar and Berry B. Benson from The Bee Movie. Some fans think they should have launched with a larger roster. The game’s developers, GameMill Entertainment were also responsible for the trilogy of Nickelodeon Kart Racers games, with the last installment having 40 racers (42 with DLC).
This is technically the third installment of DreamWorks-themed kart racing games, with the first being Madagascar Kartz in 2009 and its sequel DreamWorks Super Star Kartz in 2011.
When compared to other recent kart racers like Disney Speedstorm, it feels rather similar. However, Disney Speedstorm is a free-to-play game, while DreamWorks’ game is $39.99 or $49.00 depending on which version you get. It may or may not be worth your time, depending on what kind of experience you are looking for. Mario Kart 8 this is not.
It is too early to know if there will be any future DLC for the game, but based on their Nickelodeon games, they will most likely wait until a sequel to add more stuff. That is, if there is ever a sequel. GameMill is currently dealing with the disaster of their recent title, Skull Island: Rise of Kong.
