Dollywood Reigns Supreme Over Walt Disney World!

In the past, Dolly’s theme park, Dollywood, has landed behind the Mouse on various lists. However, TripAdvisor has solidly put her place ahead of Walt’s Orlando destination in 2024!

Dolly Parton’s official website reports that Dollywood has been awarded the illustrious title of the #1 theme park in the United States! It also claimed the #8 spot when compared to all global parks.

So, how did other US parks measure up? Well, Disney’s properties aren’t even in 2nd place:

  1. Dollywood (Pigeon Forge, Tennessee)
  2. Universal’s Islands of Adventure (Orlando, Florida)
  3. Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park (Orlando)
  4. Universal Studios Hollywood (Los Angeles, California)
  5. Universal Studios Florida (Orlando)
  6. Silver Dollar City (Branson, Missouri)
  7. Funland (Rehoboth Beach, Delaware)
  8. Fun Spot America (Kissimmee, Florida)
  9. Santa’s Village (Jefferson, New Hampshire)
  10. Busch Gardens Tampa (Tampa, Florida)

Tampa represent! I still think our Busch Gardens is underrated regarding value and ride diversity. Oh, and free beer!

Understandably, Dollywood is placed lower on the list than other destinations worldwide. What did surprise me, though, was Parc Asterix was nowhere on the list:

  1. Siam Park (Adeje, Spain)
  2. Puy du Fou (Les Epesses, France)
  3. Beto Carrero World (Penha, Brazil)
  4. Puy du Fou España (Toledo, Spain)
  5. The Milky Way Adventure Park (Clovelly, United Kingdom)
  6. Hot Park (Rio Quente, Brazil)
  7. Waterbom Bali (Kuta, Indonesia)
  8. Dollywood (Pigeon Forge)
  9. Universal’s Islands of Adventure (Orlando)
  10. Parque Terra Magica Florybal (Canela, Brazil)

You don’t have to be a fan of music legend Dolly Parton to enjoy Dollywood. Think of it as a version of Busch Gardens if it were set in the Smokey Mountains.

The theme park features several time-tested rides, from roller coasters to flumes, bumper cars, and even teacups (Lemon Twist). Basically, if you want your family-friendly attractions to be free of IPs, Dollywood is the place to go.

Dollywood is located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Single-day admission starts at $92. The multi-day tickets are also way less expensive than those at Walt Disney World—$129 for a three-day pass!
