Disney’s Skywalker Saga Projection Show Focuses on The Prequels and Original Trilogy

Disney is surprising us when it comes to Star Wars. During their new Seasons of the Force event at Disneyland, they unveiled a new projection show focused on the Skywalker Saga. The new show is called “Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga,” and the only Skywalkers shown are the actual ones from the prequel trilogy and original trilogy. Anakin, Luke, and Leia are the focus of the show. Disney’s own trilogy is pushed aside.

This is getting interesting.

The story moves from Anakin Skywalker and the prequel trilogy to Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia, and ends with words of hope for the future.

This comes after Disney finally brought Luke Skywalker into Galaxy’s Edge for a meet at greet during the “Seasons of the Force” event.

Many have commented that Disney should have always had Luke Skywalker in the “Star Wars” area of both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Luke and Anakin/Vader were the core characters of “Star Wars” for years. Instead, Disney has chosen to focus on their characters and trilogy. While understandable, it has proven to be a move with limited success. Guests and fans want the “Star Wars” they have loved for decades to be front and center.

Disney has seemingly gone out of their way to distance Luke from the story and fans, but it has not gone over well.

When Luke was announced for “Seasons of the Force,” many were immediately excited, while those of us who frequent the Walt Disney World resort were asking for Luke to visit us as well.

It’s like fans really love Luke Skywalker and didn’t want him sidelined.

However, I wish they had made sure to find someone who was more Luke Skywalker-esque for the meet and greet. Better than nothing though!

I hope Disney is taking notes. You can not have “Star Wars” without Luke.
