Disney World’s New Tiana Animatronic Keeps Breaking Down. And Social Media Thinks Its Hilarious.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure isn’t even officially open at Walt Disney World, but the animatronic for Tiana is already breaking down. Often. And it looks like she’s seen some stuff.

Ever since previews began a few weeks ago, Disney guests have been complaining about the newly rethemed Splash Mountain and its “technical difficulties.”

Now there’s a funny video clip of the Tiana animatronic frozen in place that’s getting a number of laughs on social media.

Here are some of the reactions on X (formerly known as Twitter.)

Many commenters are pointing out that the more complex the animatronics become, the more likely that they are to break down.

I really think the system under Tiana might be screwed up,” says user @PeachySmileBomb on X. “The system’s not very efficient with the new Animatronics and I think they could probably turn the ride off for a few hours to find out what’s causing the freezes.
My guess is that the system is buggy.”

Animatronic breakdowns are nothing new at Disney. Some more advanced animatronics are often offline, like the Shaman on Na’vi River Journey. And then of course, there’s the infamous “Disco Yeti” of Expedition Everest in Animal Kingdom.

Still, it’s not a terribly good look for Disney, which went ahead with the contentious re-theme of Splash Mountain despite protests from many longtime Disney fans.

Hopefully, Tiana will get over her stage fright for the ride’s official opening on June 28th in the Magic Kingdom.
