Disney World’s Nomad Lounge takes reservations Nov. 8 after 10 years

The walk-up-only lounge at Disney’s Animal Kingdom starts taking reservations for visits beginning Nov. 8. Disney calls them “highly recommended.” Passholders also get a $49 deal for two small plates and two drinks starting Oct. 20.

Nomad Lounge will finally take reservations.

The lounge at Disney’s Animal Kingdom has been walk-up only since it opened in 2016. That changes on Nov. 8, when reservations kick in, according to Disney.

“Reservations are available beginning November 8, 2026, and are highly recommended but not required,” Disney says on its Passholder perks page.

If you’ve ever stood around Discovery Island waiting for a Nomad table to open up, you know why this matters.

When can you make a Nomad Lounge reservation?

Booking opens Oct. 28, for dining dates starting Nov. 8, according to WDW News Today and WDWMAGIC. Disney’s Passholder page confirms the Nov. 8 start but hadn’t posted the booking date as of Tuesday.

Disney hasn’t said how far ahead you can book. Most Disney World restaurant reservations go through the My Disney Experience app or the Disney World website.

Can you still walk up to Nomad Lounge?

Yes, but it might get harder. “Dining reservations and walk-up availability are limited,” Disney says.

The walk-up line and the waitlist will stay, WDW News Today reported. But once some of the tables go to people who booked ahead, there will likely be fewer left for everyone else.

That’s the trade-off. Planners get a sure thing. Spontaneous lounge-hoppers get a longer wait.

What is the Nomad Lounge Passholder deal?

Annual Passholders get two small plates and two drinks for $49, plus tax and tip, according to Disney.

  • Dates: Oct. 20 through Dec. 18, 2026

  • Time: daily from 3 p.m. until close

  • Who: Walt Disney World Passholders and up to three guests

  • Rules: dine-in only, no substitutions, not valid with dining plans or other discounts. The Charcuterie and Cheese Board and some drinks are excluded.

Disney’s examples include the Wild Mushroom Dumplings, Chinese Five-Spice Glazed Chicken Wings, the Traveller’s Provisions naan with dips, a Leaping Lizard cocktail and a nonalcoholic Hibiscus Henna.

You don’t need a reservation for the deal. You do need to show your pass in the app, plus a photo ID.

How much do you save with the Nomad Lounge deal?

Somewhere around $10, depending on what you order.

Say you get the Traveller’s Provisions ($18) and the Wild Mushroom Dumplings ($14), plus a Leaping Lizard ($19) and a Hibiscus Henna ($7.75), using the menu prices WDWMAGIC listed Oct. 1.

That’s $58.75 at full price. With the deal, it’s $49, so you save $9.75 before tax and tip, by our math.

Pick pricier drinks and the savings go up. Order two mocktails and cheaper plates, and you could pay more than menu price.

What’s on the Nomad Lounge menu?

Small plates and cocktails with a world-travel theme. Here are some prices, from WDWMAGIC’s menu as of Oct. 1:

  • Churros: $11

  • Wild Mushroom Dumplings: $14

  • Crispy Chicken Wings: $16

  • Traveller’s Provisions: $18

  • Sticky Pork Ribs: $18

  • Charcuterie and Cheese Board: $24

  • Cocktails: $16 to $20, including the Sinaloa Sangria ($16), Lamu Libation, Night Monkey and Annapurna Zing

The churros come to-go, too. You can order them through mobile order, WDW News Today reported.

Why is Nomad Lounge so popular?

It’s one of the few places at Animal Kingdom to sit down, cool off and have a cocktail. There’s an outdoor deck that looks out over the Discovery River.

It’s also small. When Disney added Nomad to the app’s walk-up waitlist in October 2020, WDW News Today watched the wait climb to 55 minutes before the list closed.

Disney’s own description calls it “this refreshing oasis.” On a 90-degree afternoon, that’s not much of an exaggeration.

When did Nomad Lounge open?

On May 27, 2016, alongside Tiffins, the table-service restaurant it shares a building with. Both sit on Discovery Island, near the bridge to Pandora.

Tiffins celebrated its 10th anniversary in May with new menu items, according to the Disney Parks Blog.

What else is changing at Disney’s Animal Kingdom?

Plenty. DinoLand U.S.A. is being turned into Tropical Americas, with an Encanto attraction and an Indiana Jones ride, and Disney has listed it for 2027.

So the park is getting busier, not quieter. More guests chasing a seat with a view is part of why a reservation system makes sense here.

Which other Disney World lounges take reservations?

A couple of the big ones already do:

  • Oga’s Cantina at Hollywood Studios: Disney says “Advance reservations are highly recommended.”

  • Space 220 Lounge at EPCOT: takes reservations, with a no-show fee.

Nomad is joining that club. Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at the Polynesian still tells guests to “arrive early.”

What are some fun facts about Nomad Lounge?

Some of the drinks are named for animals. The Leaping Lizard, Night Monkey and Tempting Tigress fit right in at Animal Kingdom.

Its neighbor is named for lunch. In India, a tiffin is a light midday meal, often packed in a stacked metal tin. It’s a good fit for a building themed to world travel.

The deal ends before Christmas. It runs for 60 days, from Oct. 20 to Dec. 18, by our count, so it won’t cover the holiday week.

A reservation won’t make the churros any better. It just means you might get to eat them sitting down.
