Disney World Halloween week hotel costs more than trip to Europe, study says

A Halloween week at a Disney World resort averaged $4,924 for a family of four, more than a week’s stay in Spain, Greece or Italy, a FloridaRentals.com study found. Here’s what it measured.

A week at Disney World over Halloween cost more than a week in Europe, at least when it comes to hotel rooms, according to a new study.

The average seven-night stay at a Walt Disney World resort for a family of four from Oct. 25 to Nov. 1 cost $4,924, according to vacation rental site FloridaRentals.com. The findings were reported Sunday, Nov. 1.

The study compared that to weeklong stays in Spain, Greece and Italy.

How much did a Disney World Halloween trip cost?

$4,924 on average for lodging alone, the study found. That number doesn’t include flights, park tickets, food, or souvenirs.

The priciest option was Disney’s Beach Club Resort at $9,879.30 for the week. The cheapest was Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort at $2,159.

How does Disney World compare to Europe?

Each European option cost less for a week, according to the study:

  • Spain: $1,710, about 65% cheaper

  • Greece: $2,806, about 43% cheaper

  • Italy: $3,768, about 23% cheaper

Researchers used Disney’s official website for resort prices and Booking.com for the European stays.

Is Disney World more expensive at Halloween?

Yes. The same type of stay in May 2027 averaged $4,064, meaning Halloween week rates ran about 21% higher, according to the study.

Fall is a busy time at Disney World, with Halloween events and school breaks drawing crowds.

Does the study include flights?

No. The study only compared lodging. Flying a family of four from the U.S. to Europe usually costs much more than flying to Orlando, so the full price of a European trip could end up higher than a Disney vacation for many families.

It’s also worth noting that FloridaRentals.com is a vacation rental marketplace, which offers off-site stays that compete with Disney’s hotels. Staying at a Disney resort does come with perks like Early Theme Park Entry and free resort transportation, which some families say are worth the extra cost.

How much was Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party?

$119 to $229 per person in 2026, on top of regular park tickets, according to the report. Some fans online said prices have climbed a lot since 2018 and 2019.

The Halloween party season ran from Aug. 7 to Oct. 31.

What are Disney’s cheapest resorts?

Disney’s Value resorts, like All-Star Movies, All-Star Music, All-Star Sports, Pop Century and Art of Animation, usually cost less than the Moderate resorts like Coronado Springs. Prices change by date, room type, and demand.

How can you save money on a Disney World trip?

Go during slower times of year, like late January or early September, when hotel rates often drop. Look for Disney room discounts, which are released throughout the year, and compare on-site resorts with nearby off-site hotels.

Packing snacks and setting a budget for souvenirs can help too.

Are Disney World prices going up?

Disney has raised ticket and add-on prices over the years, and many fans say a vacation is getting harder to afford. Disney has also added more discounts and offers for some guests, and prices vary widely depending on when you go.

What are Disney World’s holiday events now?

With Halloween over, the parks are switching to Christmas. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party starts Sunday, Nov. 8, at Magic Kingdom, and Disney Jollywood Nights begins Saturday, Nov. 7, at Hollywood Studios.
