Disney Parks Blog released some information about Disney’s newest Cruise Ship, the Disney Wish. The Wish is set to be christened on June 29th LIVE at 11am EST from Port Canaveral, Florida.
During this special live event, Disney Cruise Line will showcase the majesty of their newest ship, the Wish. Along with a special look at the ship, special live musical performances, special guests, and visits from Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar characters.
Disney Cruise Line will be highlighting the newest additions to the Disney Wish including the AquaMouse – Disney’s first attraction at Sea! The AquaMouse is water slide that has 760 feet winding tubes high above the upper desk. Guests will be entertained by “The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse” animated shorts while experiencing this attraction.
Also on the Disney Wish, new dining experiences will feature Frozen and Marvel and lounge designed to bring guests into the Star Wars Galaxy. These will be showcased on the LIVE stream featuring the christening of Disney’s Wish.
Cruise Ships all have godmothers who christen the ships. Disney has yet to announce who the godmother is for the Wish as of yet. On everythingmouse.com, it lists the godmothers for the other Disney cruise ships.
Disney Magic – Patricia Disney, the wife of Walt Disney’s nephew, Roy Disney
Disney Wonder – Tinkerbell
Disney Dream – Jennifer Hudson, who at one point worked in entertainment on the Disney Wonder
Disney Fantasy – Mariah Carey
Everythingmouse.com listed some of their choices for the Wish’s godmother including Disney favorites such as Julie Andrews (Mary Poppins), Jodi Benson (the voice of Ariel in The Little Mermaid), and Emma Watson (Belle in live action Beauty and the Beast). Perhaps Disney will announce the godmother in the days prior to the christening event or surprise guests on the day of the event.
