Disney Wants You To buy The Acolyte Force Witch Conception Song For Father’s Day

Disney has just released the song “The Power of Two” from “The Acoytle,” they want you to buy it for your Dad for Father’s Day. The irony is just too great for me not to cover this. So, file it under opinion because it amuses me, and here we go.

In Disney’s latest foray into “Star Wars,” The Acolyte,” they have added songs to the mix. In Episode 3, we visit the Brendok witches.

The Brendok witches are force users, all women who get pregnant by chanting a song. No men are involved. Of course, that means that, according to Disney marketing, it’s the perfect song for Father’s Day.

The media, people at Disney, showrunners, actors, etc., have gone out of their way to blame “toxic” men for their shows and films not performing well, even though the audience is mostly male. The implication is that those “toxic” fans are the vocal minority, even though the shows and films are in decline overall.

It’s kind of laughable that now they want to promote the song purchase as a Father’s Day gift. My husband was very amused indeed and so do people on X.

“The Acolyte,” despite Disney’s attempt to make it sound like it’s doing well, opened to 11 million views, which was 3 million lower than “Ahsoka.” Sure, it was the highest opening of 2024 for Disney+, but not for “Star Wars.”

Currently, on Rotten Tomatoes, it has a 16% audience score. While I do believe that some are reviewing bombing and review boosting the score, overall, people must not like it for it to be that low.

Lately, Disney has been promoting songs from franchises like “Star Wars” and “Doctor Who” to try and make them popular on TikTok. Even if people mock them, they will get clicks and downloads. Why else would their immediate response be to “buy the song digitally?”

I’m sure the song will be bought. I’m sure it’s being searched a lot. However, I’m also sure many people are searching for it to mock it. But Disney will only see it as engagement and a “win.”

Disney either is ridiculously out of touch, or they have a great sense of humor.

Happy Father’s Day.
