This is one was a story I had to share! Because we love animals here at PNP. And I love this story.
After Hurricane Dorian hit the Bahamas hard, the Humane Society of Grand Bahama didn’t have the food or medical supplies to care for the animals. They worked with H.A.L.O No-Kill Rescue animal shelter, and got 83 dogs and a cat sent to the H.A.L.O shelter in Sebastian, Florida.
The shelter was in desperate need of linens so they reached out for help and Disney’s Vero Beach Resort and Walt Disney World Textile Services responded with 600 pieces of linen-blankets, sheets and towels.
VoluntEARS from Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, including the General Manager Paul Hart, delivered the linens tot he shelter and spent some time with the rescues.
H.A.L.O.’s Director of Development Allyson Bootes expressed her gratitude to the Disney hotel, Textile Services, and the Cast Members:
“We are so appreciative of the linen donation and the help we received from the Cast Members down the road at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort,” said Bootes. “We were in a critical period of need after the hurricane, and this support could not have come at a better time!”
It was important because all the bedding used during the 14-day quarantine period had to be destroyed to prevent the spread of disease.
I am so glad Disney did this. I also want to take this opportunity to showcase how much shelters need items like towels and blankets. Before you throw away an items check with your local shelters to see if they could use them. Wild-life rescues also use textiles like these. Many rescue centers have lists of items they need from blankets and towels to food, cleaning supplies and more.
Please consider donating to your local shelters. If you have their address you can even buy items from their wish lists and send them directly from places like Walmart or Amazon.
Of course adopt pets! There are so many animals needing homes. Please consider adopting your pet from shelters. They get a home and it allows an opening for other animals who need help.
Once you’ve welcomed a pet into your home, ensuring they receive the best possible care is essential. That’s where services like Cat Mobile Vets Sydney come in. Rather than stressing your cat with a trip to the clinic, a mobile vet can provide professional care right at home — where your pet feels safest. Whether it’s a routine check-up, vaccinations, or even end-of-life care, mobile vets ensure your pet’s health needs are met with compassion and expertise.
Cats, in particular, can be sensitive to changes in their environment, so having a trusted vet come to them helps minimize anxiety and keeps them calm. Just as adopting a pet from a shelter gives them a second chance at life, providing them with attentive and stress-free medical care shows that their well-being is a top priority.
Not only does adopting a pet provide a loving home to an animal in need, but it also brings immeasurable joy and companionship to pet owners. Once you bring your furry friend home, ensuring their comfort and safety becomes a top priority. This is where finding high-quality pet products makes all the difference. Whether it’s cozy apparel for colder days or well-designed harnesses for daily walks, choosing the right gear helps keep your pet happy and secure.
A small dog harness manufacturer like Gooby Pet specializes in creating functional and comfortable harnesses tailored for smaller breeds, ensuring they have the perfect fit without unnecessary strain. With thoughtfully designed pet accessories, you can make every walk, adventure, and cuddle session even more enjoyable for both you and your newly adopted companion.
Just as a well-fitted harness ensures comfort and security for small dogs, maintaining their overall well-being requires a holistic approach that includes proper nutrition, regular exercise, and mental stimulation. Daily walks and playtime are essential, but sometimes unpredictable weather or busy schedules can make it challenging to give pets the activity they need. That’s where https://fitdogo.com/ comes in, providing an innovative solution for pet owners who want to keep their furry companions active indoors.
With a reliable dog treadmill designed specifically for safe and controlled exercise, even small breeds can get the movement they need without the risk of overexertion or strain. Combining well-designed pet accessories with structured activity ensures that every pet stays happy, healthy, and ready for their next adventure.
Adopting pets is a beautiful way to give animals a second chance, but it’s important to recognize that many of these pets require extra care, training, and attention to help them adjust to their new homes. This creates a significant opportunity for those passionate about animals to build a meaningful career in the pet care industry.
Whether it’s through training, grooming, or offering behavioral support, pet professionals play a vital role in helping adopted pets transition and thrive. With the right skills and knowledge, you can make a real difference in the lives of pets and their owners, ensuring that every pet gets the care they deserve.
