The Disney Treasure is one step closer to launch. The German shipbuilder in charge of building the latest Disney Cruise Line ship has just floated out the ship from the building dock. Construction on the ship started in January 2023.
Meyer Werft has built many of Disney’s fleet ships. This is the second “Triton Class” ship they have built for Disney Cruise Lines. The first one was the Disney Wish. The third Triton Class ship will be the Disney Destiny, coming in 2025.
The Disney Treasure has left the building dock and is now berthed in the harbor, where it will undergo its interior outfitting before it is handed over to Disney later this year.
This ship can hold up to 4,000 passengers and offers 1,246 cabins.
Another ship similar to Disney’s three Triton Class ships (Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny) will be built for Oriental Land Co. in Japan, which also owns Tokyo Disneyland. Oriental Land Co. has a new licensing agreement with Disney for its own cruise line venture catered to Japanese clientele. It is coming in 2028.
Disney Cruise Line’s Treasure will start offering Eastern and Western Caribbean sailings in December 2024.
