Disney will end Hulu as a standalone app in January 2026. Hulu will still be a single service option, but if you want Hulu in app form, you will need to have Disney+ with Hulu. Hulu will now be a tab on the Disney+ app.
What should you do if you have Hulu with a Disney+ add-on?
Disney is also ending the option for Hulu subscribers to keep Disney+ as a discounted add-on through their Hulu account. They want customers to bundle via their Disney+ with Hulu package with prices ranging from $12.99 a month – $19.99 a month.

Those who still have Disney+ as an add-on to Hulu will have their Disney+ canceled next billing cycle if you do not switch to the Disney+ with Hulu tier by early January.
This means that your account will be managed through Disney+ and no longer through Hulu.
This kind of sucks if you just wanted to use the Hulu app. Now you have to have Disney+ with Hulu to do so.
Why is Disney doing this?
Disney is likely trying to streamline the services to remove redundancies and save money. Also, putting the Hulu tab on Disney+ with Hulu, they are putting the service under their main streaming brand.
It likely will make the numbers look better in the streaming wars. (Which are basically becoming a Highlander situation for power and dominance.)
Again, this is only for the app version of Hulu. The streaming service will still be available, but as a standalone offering. If you want Disney+ as well, you will need to switch plans ASAP.
