Disney is already expensive, and they will jump at any chance to make another price hike based on “supply and demand.” If you are visiting the Walt Disney World Resort in the next few weeks, be prepared for possible price increases on the Lightning Lane.
Currently, we know that one such price hike has already been spotted for March 29-31st.
Lightning Lane Multi-Pass prices will see an increase.
Here is the price range for those dates.
$45 per person (plus tax)- Magic Kingdom
$35-$37 per person (plus tax) – EPCOT
$37-$39 per person (plus tax) – Hollywood Studios
$32-$35 per person (plus tax) – Animal Kingdom
According to AllEars the lowest prices for March are as follows:
Magic Kingdom per person (plus tax) -$35
EPCOT’s per person (plus tax) – $24
Hollywood Studios per person (plus tax) – $29
Animal Kingdom per person (plus tax) -$19
There is a big financial gap between $19 a day and $35! Mostly they are about $10 more per day, with Animal Kingdom and EPCOT seeing the highest mark ups.
Sell-outs are also likely.
Some Lighting Lane single attractions are sold out through March 12, and the $449 per person (plus tax) Lighting Lane Premiere Pass at Magic Kingdom is already sold out through March 18!
Of course, this gives Disney zero incentive to stop raising prices and speeding up stand-by lines.
If you are headed to Walt Disney World this month, expect longer lines and significantly higher pricing on Lighting Lane options.
Want to avoid lines as much as possible without the Lighting Lane upcharge?
There is no way to avoid all lines, but you can minimize issues by watching wait times on the Walt Disney World App. Check and record the wait times of attractions you want throughout the day. You will see where traffic patterns emerge. This could maximize your time by hitting attractions based on wait time patterns. Find times of the day when lines tend to be shorter.
The easiest way is to use a Lighting Lane Multi-Pass in conjunction with this, but with a bit of work, you can still ride a lot and not have to pay for the upcharges. Just note that busy days are busy, and you may have to hit the park early, leave, and come back later to get the best results.
