Durings its Q3 earnings call, Disney CEO Bob Chapek has just announced that Mulan will be coming to Disney+ / VOD on September 4.
Disney will offer #Mulan on premium video-on-demand beginning Sept. 4. Will rent for $29.99. Blow to theaters, which had hoped to highlight the release as part of a grand reopening.

This seems to indicate that Disney is well aware of the dire situation movie theaters are in, and choosing to go the route of Bill & Ted Face the Music — simultaneously releasing to streaming and whatever theaters are open.
Ouch.
Disney has also announced yet another streaming service called Star, but details were slim.
