The Hilt of a Jedi Ki-Adi-Mundi

Disney Store Just Released a Limited Edition Ki-Adi-Mundi Lightsaber

In celebration of Jedi Ki-Adi-Mundi’s return to the Star Wars universe in The Acolyte, the Disney Store has released a new limited-edition lightsaber hilt! It comes with some cool extras, too!

Unlike most Galaxy’s Edge lightsabers, Ki-Adi-Mundi’s has a unique display box, Certificate of Authenticity, and a special Star Wars: Galaxy‘s Edge comic.

The $325 hilt is limited to only 6,000 pieces. The blades are, of course, sold separately.

Although this Jedi Master’s lightsaber isn’t particularly memorable, the display case really sells it. I also like that the hilt incorporates the old-school circuit switch—excellent detail!

Ki-Adi-Mundi’s surprising return was not without its downsides. The character’s introduction nearly 100 years before The Phantom Menace raises several issues, including the Jedi’s insistence that the Sith had not been seen for millennia. However, since Disney Star Wars has been actively rewriting lore for about a decade, it’s par for the course now.

Although a lot of Acolyte defenders downplay Ki-Adi-Mundi’s place in the fandom, those of us who watched Genndy Tartakovsky’s Star Wars: Clone Wars know how awesome the big-headed Jedi was:

Did we mention there was also a gender pay discrepancy during The Acolyte’s inaugural season?

Anyway, there is another … lightsaber hilt, that is! Those who missed out or didn’t want to drop thousands of dollars on a two-night stay aboard the Galactic Starcruiser can now pick up the exclusive hilt that was being sold in the hotel’s giftshop!

Similar to other Legacy lightsabers, it comes in a display box, but this one features the Chandrila Star Line logo on the front. Also included are (26) Aurebesh letter charms that can be swapped out on the hilt. Not sure what each character means? Check out the Aurebesh translator here.

The $159.99 price tag does not include a blade, but (3) AAA batteries are. Also, note that the default blade color is blue. Sorry, Sith fans!
