Disney Shares New Details For Frozen 3 And What We Can Expect

At this year’s D23 entertainment showcase, fans were given a small glimpse at the upcoming third installment of the Frozen franchise. Since its beginning in 2013, the Frozen series has earned $2.733 billion at the worldwide box office alone and billions more in merchandise sales. Up until the release of Pixar’s Inside Out 2Frozen II was the highest-grossing animated film of all time.

At this year’s showcase, Jennifer Lee, current head of Disney Animation and Frozen co-creator, took to the stage to give fans a small tease of what they may expect to see. A paragraph of text was shown, hinting that the answers to many fans’ questions will be revealed.

Who gave Elsa her powers? Why doesn’t Anna have powers? Was there a 5th Spirit before? Will Kristoff be King? Do they want kids? Where are Kristoff’s parents? How did Kristoff meet Sven? How can Sven be so old and still so virile? Why is Olaf alive? What about Marshmallow and the Showgies? Is it “Hoo Hoo” or “You Hoo”? Why are Elsa’s powers still growing? Why are there castle ruins throughout Ahtohallan? Where do the nature spirits come from? Do we still need to beware of the Frozen Heart? Who is the Frozen Heart? What happened to Hans?

While nothing specific has been given as to what we can expect, we were given a few small hints. Prince Hans has become a fan favorite that many want to see return, yet Disney keeps trying to bury him at every chance they get. Seeing him finally return would be welcomed by many. But will he be evil? Will he be redeemed? Will he and Elsa get together?

There is also the chance that it is only the first half of a greater story, with a potential fourth film being developed. But we will have to wait and see when it releases in November of 2026.
