Mattel has announced that it has renewed a multi-year global licensing agreement with The Walt Disney Company for the Disney Princess and Disney Frozen brands, including dolls and figures.
This agreement allows Mattel to continue developing Disney Princess dolls and toys for the upcoming Frozen 3 film and other princess lines including, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Brave, Cinderella, Frozen, The Little Mermaid, Moana, Mulan, Pocahontas, The Princess and the Frog, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Tangled and Raya and the Last Dragon, and live-action adaptations of Disney Princess characters.

Mattel originally had the Disney Princess doll license for years before losing it to Hasbro, but they regained the Disney license in 2023. Now it is being renewed in 2025.
Nick Karamanos, Senior Vice President of Entertainment Partnerships at Mattel, offered this comment on the renewal, saying,
“Disney Princess and Disney Frozen capture hearts around the world, and we’re thrilled to extend our relationship. We look forward to continuing to bring Mattel’s industry-leading expertise in dolls to these timeless stories and characters through new and imaginative collections.”
Paul Gitter, Executive Vice President of Global Brand Commercialization at Disney Consumer Products, also offered this comment,
“Disney and Mattel share a rich legacy of bringing imagination and play to life. This renewal reflects the strength of our long-standing relationship and the enduring appeal of the Disney Princess and Frozen franchises, which continue to inspire and connect with fans around the world.”
