Disney has just released a look at the live action “Moana” film coming to theaters on July 10, 2026.
The teaser shows various scenes from the animated film, redone in live action along with the song “How Far I’ll Go.”
It’s odd given that the original animated film will only be about 10 years old.

Moana”is directed by Thomas Kail and produced by Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
It is exectuive produced by Thomas Kail, Scott Sheldon, Charles Newirth and Auliʻi Cravalho (animated Moana voice.)
The film stars Catherine Laga’aia (Moana), Dwayne Johnson (Maui), John Tui (Chief Tui), and Rena Owen (Gramma Tala).
It’s a good trailer, and from what we are shown it appears to translate well to live-action (so far.) This one might do well.
