Disney Promoting New Lightsaber For the Galactic Starcruiser Hotel

Today is ‘Star Wars Day’ also known as May the 4th, so that means Disney is going to make all kinds of announcements today.  First they announced that the new Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel would be opening next year instead of this one and then they showcased a new lightsaber.

It seems that Walt Disney Imagineering R & D have come up with a new type of lightsaber. I’m sure they were super excited to work on something like that, I know I would have.  This new lightsaber will debut on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. Because of course it will. Disney promised all kinds of things for Galaxy’s Edge and a lot of those things are ending up in the hotel, with an extremely hefty price tag, instead.

We got a video of the lightsaber in action and it is very cool.

I’m not really sure how this is going to be used other than for characters or shows. If they can sell them for a ridiculous price they will, but as of now there’s no word on that.

What we do know is that the Halcyon will “set sail” next year and you better start saving because the 2-night “cruise” will set you back a lot of money, but if you really want to go stay tuned. We will post more information when it becomes available and we will do what we can to help you get there.

Seriously, if you do want to go, you might want to start setting money back now so you have it for when the booking windows start. I was actually being serious about that.
