If you’re tired of Dreamlight Valley and don’t want to try to understand Kingdom Hearts’ confusing lore, you may be interested in the Disney Pixel RPG! It’s a free-to-play game coming to iOS and Android!
Disney Pixel PRG is made by GungHo Online Entertainment, Inc., which specializes in puzzle games. However, this Mickey-related roleplaying adventure looks pretty good. And, no, it’s not because Maleficent is in it. OK, you got me. That is the main reason I’m eyeing the game.

“The game worlds that the Disney characters call home have suddenly been invaded by strange programs, resulting in chaos.
Previously isolated game worlds have become connected… causing unexpected encounters between characters and throwing them into confusion.
Take on the role of a player of these games and join Disney characters as you embark on an epic quest across multiple game worlds to restore order!“
Disney Pixel RPG promises a simple, fast-paced battle system structured like classic retro adventure titles. It also offers avatar customization options and probably a lot of microtransactions.
I’m hoping this mobile game doesn’t turn out to be predatory, forcing players to shell out loads of cash or be forced to grind for months to progress. However, Disney Pixel RPG is made for cell phones, and we all know what that means.
Gamers who aren’t RPG fans but still want to game with Mickey should try Disney Illusion Island. It’s a Metroidvania-like platformer. I reviewed it last year and found it to be entirely OK.
The Nintendo Switch title is a bit short and not all that complex, but it does feature a lot of animated cutscenes and is decently challenging in some spots. I wouldn’t suggest playing it on the Switch’s small screen, though.
Will you be installing Disney Pixel RPG when it launches in September? Let us know!
