Disney is reportedly surveying guests about adding “The Simpsons” to the theme parks in some capacity and other media-related offerings with the show. This is not surprising, given that Disney is all about the IP they own and how to leverage every penny out of it.
The news comes from Drew Smith on X.
In a new survey, Disney asks Guests about The Walt Disney Company’s brands, franchises, and offerings, including The Simpsons.
The answers include “Character meet & greets at the Disney theme parks” and “New lands or attractions at the Disney theme parks.”

According to the image, guests were asked to consider options for “The Simpsons” being added to the parks.
“Which of the following offerings do you want to hear more about The Simpsons?
Please Consider both offerings you are aware of, as well as those that may not exist yet, but you think would be valuable.”
Guests were then asked to choose from options containing media and in-park experiences. The options included:
- Short-form content (shorts)
- Social Media posts
- Video Games
- Live Action TV
- Immersive experiences outside of Disney theme parks
- Character meet & greets at Disney theme parks
- Movies
- New lands or attractions at the Disney theme parks
- Merchandise
- Animated TV
- Other: Please Specify
- None of the above
Currently, “The Simpsons” is at Universal Orlando theme park under a deal made before Disney acquired the rights to the franchise under the Fox buyout. Unlike Universal’s rights to use Marvel characters exclusively East of the Mississippi, the rights for “The Simpsons” expire in 2028.
There have been rumors that Universal was already planning on repurposing their Simpsons land area because they knew Disney would not allow a renewal. Pokemon is something that keeps coming up as a possibility for Universal theme parks and perhaps “The Simpsons” area, but nothing has been confirmed. It’s all speculation.
But Disney is likely desperate with Epic Universe coming next May and might be looking at ways to take from the rival theme park.
I would not be surprised at all to see Disney try and shove “The Simpsons” into the theme parks somewhere. I do not think they are a good fit at all, but Disney is all about making unpopular choices in the pursuit of more money.
